The Cirque of the Towers is one of the most iconic mountain basins in the American West — a granite fortress carved by glaciers, its spires rising directly along the Continental Divide. For years I dreamed of giving this place a portrait, but when I finally stood among its towers, I realized no single peak could carry the story.
This portrait was captured at sunrise, when the first light burned across the towers one by one, igniting their faces in copper tones while the basin below remained in shadow. A still pool mirrored the dawn, holding the balance of light and stone in tension.
This photograph is more than a view — it is the product of long miles, anxious nights, and the vulnerability of stepping into the unknown. It represents not only the Cirque itself, but also the evolving story of this project: not just mountains, but the journey and the uncertainty of what lies ahead.
